Laser Hair Removal is described as a warm heat with a slight tingling sensation. The more sessions you have, the less pain you feel as there are fewer hair follicles targeted.

The laser emits light energy, which is absorbed by melanin in the hair. If in the right stage of growth, this causes the hair follicle to overheat and damages the bulb, preventing regrowth. The process is called photothermolysis.

Absolutely, laser hair removal is safe. The laser targets only the hair follicle, leaving the surrounding skin unharmed. You may experience some redness, but this should subside within 24 hours.

No, Cancer is caused by UV spectrum of light. Ultra violet light which irradiates the cell’s DNA causing irregular growth changes which can cause cancerous growths. Laser hair removal uses the red spectrum of light- specifically infra-red which is only absorbed by the dark pigment in your hair called melanin. This cause no changes to your skin cells and is very safe.

Waxing regularly and over long periods of time can cause damage such as darkening and lightening of the skin (hyper and hypo pigmentation) in grown hairs which can lead to scarring.

With laser hair removal as it reduces the thickness of the hairs and isn’t abrasive to the skin it doesn’t have any detrimental effects to the skins tone and texture and as after a course of treatments the hair is reduces in thickness darkness and amount the regularity of removing the hair is massively reduced and can help the skin return near to normal condition.

In a sample of over 10,000 treatments, the average hair reduction after 12 treatments was 68 – 74%. A minimum of 8 treatments is required.

Hair growth has many factors and hormones play a big part in hair growth, so top up treatments to maintain the reduction may be required but it is worth it to keep the skin smooth and the hair reduce and slow growing – especially if you suffer from ingrown hairs.

Our treatments will never harm your skin. There may be a little redness, but this will fade within 24 hours.

Laser hair treatment is fine for any skin type or colour, as long as your hairs are dark enough to attract the laser.

You will need to come for a consultation and patch test at least 48 hours before any appointment. Consultations are £25 and are fully refundable if a laser hair appointment/course is booked.

• In between treatments you must only shave the hair.
• No plucking, waxing, threading or hair removal creams is allowed.
• You will also need to avoid any sun exposure during a course of treatments. This includes sun beds, holidays and fake tan (around the time of the treatment).
• If you do have a holiday planned please let us know and we can work around those dates safely.
